Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
D-Link DIR-605L version 2.13B01 BETA
Description
A critical issue is related to the function
formWlanSetup of the file /goform/formWlanSetup, which is vulnerable to buffer overflow due to the lack of input size validation. This can be exploited by sending a specially crafted POST request with the webpage parameter, allowing a remote attacker to impact the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of protected information.Recommendations
For D-Link DIR-605L version 2.13B01 BETA, as a temporary workaround, consider disabling the
formWlanSetup function until a patch is available. Restrict access to the /goform/formWlanSetup endpoint to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the webpage parameter in the affected API endpoint until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.Exploit
