Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
D-Link DIR-605L version 2.13B01 BETA
Description
A critical issue was found in the function
formSetEnableWizard of the file /goform/formSetEnableWizard. The manipulation of the argument curTime leads to buffer overflow. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. The exploit has been disclosed to the public and may be used. This issue is related to the copying of a buffer without checking the size of the input data, which may allow a remote attacker to impact the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of protected information by sending a specially crafted POST request with the curTime parameter.Recommendations
As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the
formSetEnableWizard function until a patch is available. Restrict access to the /goform/formSetEnableWizard endpoint to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the curTime parameter in the affected API endpoint until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.Exploit
