CVE-2024-6610

CVSS v3.1

6.3

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:L/A:L
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Firefox versions prior to 128 Thunderbird versions prior to 128
Description The issue is related to insufficient input validation in the Form Validation Popup Handler component of the Firefox web browser. This can be exploited by a remote attacker to cause a denial of service. The vulnerability allows form validation popups to capture escape key presses, which could be used to prevent users from exiting full-screen mode by spamming form validation messages.
Recommendations For Firefox versions prior to 128, update to version 128 or later to resolve the issue. For Thunderbird versions prior to 128, update to version 128 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider disabling form validation popups in full-screen mode until a patch is available.
