Description
The issue is related to incorrect handling of missing values in the AppleTalk Dissector and RELOAD Framing Dissector for Wireshark, which can lead to a denial of service. This can be exploited by a remote attacker to cause a crash via packet injection or a crafted capture file.
Recommendations
For Wireshark versions 4.2.0 through 4.2.7, consider disabling the AppleTalk and RELOAD Framing dissectors as a temporary workaround until a patch is available.
For Wireshark version 4.4.0, consider disabling the AppleTalk and RELOAD Framing dissectors as a temporary workaround until a patch is available.
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
