CVE-2024-26789

CVSS v3.1

7.1

High

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The issue is related to an out-of-bounds access in the crypto: arm64/neonbs component of the Linux kernel, specifically in the bit-sliced implementation of AES-CTR. This implementation operates on blocks of 128 bytes and falls back to the plain NEON version for tail blocks or inputs shorter than 128 bytes. The fallback fails to account for the plain NEON glue code's behavior of copying inputs shorter than 16 bytes into a temporary buffer, potentially resulting in out-of-bounds accesses.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
