CVE-2024-26814

CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The issue is related to the vfio-fsl-mc driver in the Linux kernel. It involves the eventfd ctx trigger pointer of the vfio fsl mc irq object, which is initially NULL and may become NULL if the user sets the trigger eventfd to -1. The interrupt handler itself is guaranteed to have a valid trigger between request irq() and free irq(), but the loopback testing mechanisms need to test the trigger. The vulnerability may allow an attacker to cause a denial of service (DoS).
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
