Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
The issue is related to a NULL pointer dereference in the Linux kernel's gpio component. This occurs when removing debugfs entries while unbinding the driver, causing a NULL-pointer dereference on module exit. The problem arises because platform devices are unregistered after the global debugfs directory has been recursively removed. To fix this, the devices should be unregistered first. The vulnerability may allow an attacker to cause a denial of service.
Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
