CVE-2024-26950

CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The issue is related to a NULL pointer dereference in the Linux kernel's wireguard component. Specifically, the problem occurs when accessing a device through the ctx instead of the peer, which can lead to a NULL peer->device being dereferenced. This change improves performance and provides a defense-in-depth provision against freed peers by comparing ctx->wg->peer allowedips.seq with ctx->allowedips seq, basing them both in ctx.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
