Critical
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
DrayTek Vigor 3900 version 1.5.1.3
Description
The issue exists due to the lack of neutralization of special elements used in the operating system command in the restore function of the mainfunction.cgi file in the DrayTek Vigor 3900 router's firmware. This allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code by injecting malicious commands into mainfunction.cgi and calling the restore function.
Recommendations
For version 1.5.1.3, consider disabling the restore function in mainfunction.cgi until a patch is available to prevent exploitation. Restrict access to the mainfunction.cgi file to minimize the risk of arbitrary command execution. Avoid using the restore function in mainfunction.cgi until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
