CVE-2024-49524
CVSS v2.0
5.5
Medium
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:S/C:P/I:P/A:N |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Adobe Experience Manager versions 6.5.20 and earlier
Description:
The issue is related to a DOM-based Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability. It could be exploited by an attacker to execute arbitrary code in the context of the victim's browser session. By manipulating a DOM element through a crafted URL or user input, the attacker can inject malicious scripts that run when the page is rendered. This type of attack requires user interaction, as the victim would need to access a manipulated URL or provide specific input to trigger the vulnerability.
Recommendations:
For Adobe Experience Manager versions 6.5.20 and earlier, update to a version later than 6.5.20 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting user input and access to crafted URLs to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using manipulated URLs or providing specific input that could trigger the vulnerability until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no other information about additional mitigation measures.
