Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
The issue is related to errors in memory usage after release in the
ieee80211 change station() function of the mac80211 component. When a station is moved out of a VLAN and the VLAN is deleted afterwards, the fast rx entry still holds a pointer to the VLAN's netdev, which can cause use-after-free bugs. This can be fixed by immediately calling ieee80211 check fast rx after the VLAN change.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
