CVE-2024-27054

CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The issue is related to incorrect calculations in the dasd generic set online() function, which can lead to a denial of service. The problem occurs when the discipline is associated with the device, and deleting the device takes care of decrementing the module's refcount. However, doing it manually on this error path causes the refcount to artificially decrease on each error, while it should just stay the same.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
