CVE-2024-35786

CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The issue is related to a stale locked mutex in the nouveau gem ioctl pushbuf function. If VM BIND is enabled on the client, the legacy submission ioctl cannot be used. However, if a client attempts to use it regardless, it will return an error, and the client's mutex will remain unlocked, leading to a deadlock inside nouveau drm postclose or any other nouveau ioctl call. This can be exploited to cause a denial of service.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
