CVE-2024-35915

CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The issue is related to the use of an uninitialized resource in the nci rx work() function. When the payload length is zero, each message type handler reads uninitialized payload, and KMSAN detects this issue. The receipt of a packet with a zero-size payload is considered unexpected, and such packets should be silently discarded. This issue has been resolved by checking the payload size before calling each message type handler code.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
