CVE-2024-35952

CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The issue is related to a while-loop in the ast dp set on off() function that could lead to an infinite loop. This is because the register, VGACRI-Dx, checked in this API is a scratch register actually controlled by a MCU, named DPMCU, in BMC. These scratch registers are protected by scu-lock. If scu-lock is not off, DPMCU cannot update these registers, and then the host will have a soft lockup due to never updated status. The DPMCU is used to control DP and relative registers to handshake with the host's VGA driver.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
