CVE-2024-35850

CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The issue is related to a NULL-pointer dereference in the Linux kernel's Bluetooth qca component. Qualcomm ROME controllers can be registered from the Bluetooth line discipline, and in this case, the HCI UART serdev pointer is NULL. A missing sanity check has been added to prevent the NULL-pointer dereference when the setup() function is called for a non-serdev controller. This could potentially allow an attacker to cause a denial of service.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
