Description The issue is related to a stack overflow in the pptp user netmask parameter at the "pptp.cgi" endpoint. This allows attackers to cause a Denial of Service (DoS) via a crafted POST request. The vulnerability can be exploited by sending a specially crafted POST request, enabling remote attackers to disrupt service.
Recommendations For Netgear R7000P version 1.3.3.154, consider disabling the pptp.cgi endpoint or restricting access to it until a patch is available to prevent exploitation of the pptp user netmask parameter. Avoid using the pptp user netmask parameter in the affected endpoint until the issue is resolved.
