CVE-2024-36947

CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions: Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description: The issue is related to a dentry leak in the qibfs component of the Linux kernel. The simple recursive removal() function drops pinning references to all positives in a subtree, but when its argument comes from dcache lookup, it needs to be balanced by an explicit dput(). This can lead to a denial of service.
Recommendations: At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
