CVSS v3.1
7.1

| Vector | AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:H |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Linux Kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description:
The issue is related to an out-of-bounds read in the drm/vmwgfx component of the Linux kernel. This occurs because the length of the
drm event is set to the parent structure instead of the drm vmw event fence structure that is supposed to be read. The drm read function uses the length parameter to copy the event to the user space, resulting in out-of-bounds reads. This could potentially allow an attacker to cause a denial of service.Recommendations:
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
