CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions: Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description: The issue is related to the wifi component carl9170 in the Linux kernel, where a wrong endpoint type at the URB submitting stage causes a warning. The vulnerability is caused by the implicit trust of other endpoints, as only a specific 4th endpoint was checked. The issue can be fixed by doing a comprehensive check of all endpoints, taking into account the difference between high- and full-speed configuration. The vulnerability may allow an attacker to cause a denial of service.
Recommendations: At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
