Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Fuji Electric Monitouch V-SFT version V9C
Description:
This issue allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations of Fuji Electric Monitouch V-SFT. User interaction is required to exploit this vulnerability, as the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file. The specific flaw exists within the parsing of V9C files, resulting from the lack of proper validation of user-supplied data, which can result in a write past the end of an allocated buffer. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to execute code in the context of the current process.
Recommendations:
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the use of the V9C file parsing functionality until a patch is available. Avoid opening malicious files or visiting malicious pages to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
