Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Fuji Electric Monitouch V-SFT version V8
Description:
The issue is a remote code execution vulnerability that allows attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations of Fuji Electric Monitouch V-SFT. This is due to a lack of proper validation of user-supplied data, which can result in a write past the end of an allocated buffer. User interaction is required to exploit this vulnerability, as the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file. The specific flaw exists within the parsing of V8 files. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to execute code in the context of the current process.
Recommendations:
For Fuji Electric Monitouch V-SFT version V8, as a temporary workaround, consider disabling the parsing of V8 files until a patch is available. Restrict access to the V8 file parsing functionality to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid opening malicious files or visiting malicious pages to prevent the exploitation of this vulnerability. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
