VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions: Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description: The issue is related to the use of an uninitialized resource in the libstub component of the Linux kernel. Specifically, the priv.runtime map is only allocated when efi novamap is not set, otherwise, it is an uninitialized value. In the error path, it is freed unconditionally, which can lead to issues. The problem was discovered and resolved using Coverity Static Analysis Security Testing (SAST) by Synopsys, Inc. An attacker could potentially exploit this issue to cause a denial of service.
Recommendations: At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
