Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
TP-Link Archer C50 (affected versions not specified)
Description:
The issue is related to the storage of critical information in an unencrypted manner in the web interface of the TP-Link Archer C50 Wi-Fi router. This could allow an attacker to gain unauthorized access to the Wi-Fi credentials of the targeted system. Additionally, the presence of terminal access on a serial interface without proper access control could be exploited by an attacker with physical access to the device, potentially allowing them to obtain Wi-Fi credentials through the UART shell.
Recommendations:
For TP-Link Archer C50, consider restricting physical access to the device to minimize the risk of exploitation.
As a temporary workaround, consider disabling terminal access on the serial interface until a patch is available.
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
