CVSS v2.0
5.5
Medium
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:S/C:P/I:P/A:N |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Adobe Experience Manager versions 6.5.21 and earlier
Description
The issue is related to a DOM-based Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability. It could be exploited by an attacker to execute arbitrary code in the context of the victim's browser session. By manipulating a DOM element through a crafted URL or user input, the attacker can inject malicious scripts that run when the page is rendered. This type of attack requires user interaction, as the victim would need to access a manipulated link or input data into a vulnerable page.
Recommendations
For Adobe Experience Manager versions 6.5.21 and earlier, update to a version later than 6.5.21 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to vulnerable pages and avoiding user input that could be used to manipulate DOM elements until a patch is available. Restrict access to the vulnerable DOM elements to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using crafted URLs or user input that could be used to inject malicious scripts in the affected Adobe Experience Manager versions.
