CVE-2024-47597

CVSS v3.1

9.1

Critical

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions GStreamer versions prior to 1.24.10
Description The issue is related to a function qtdemux parse samples in the GStreamer multimedia framework, which is associated with an out-of-bounds read in memory. This can be exploited by a remote attacker to cause a denial of service. The problem arises when the qtdemux parse samples function reads data beyond the boundaries of the stream->stco buffer, potentially leading to reading up to 8 bytes out-of-bounds.
Recommendations For versions prior to 1.24.10, update to version 1.24.10 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the use of the qtdemux parse samples function until a patch is available.
