Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Adobe Experience Manager versions 6.5.21 and earlier
Description
The issue is related to a DOM-based Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability in Adobe Experience Manager. This vulnerability could be exploited by an attacker to execute arbitrary code in the context of the victim's browser session. By manipulating a DOM element through a crafted URL or user input, the attacker can inject malicious scripts that run when the page is rendered. This type of attack requires user interaction, as the victim would need to visit a malicious link or input data into a compromised form.
Recommendations
For Adobe Experience Manager versions 6.5.21 and earlier, consider disabling the DOM element manipulation functionality until a patch is available. Restrict access to crafted URLs and user input to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using compromised forms or links that could lead to the injection of malicious scripts. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
