| Vector | AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description:
The issue is related to the OpenRISC exception handling in the Linux kernel, which sends signals to user processes on floating point exceptions and trap instructions for debugging purposes. However, there is a bug where the trap handling logic may send signals to kernel threads, which should not happen. If this occurs, it is treated as an error. The patch adds conditions to handle this situation by having the kernel die if it receives these exceptions in kernel mode code. This could potentially lead to a denial of service.
Recommendations:
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
