CVSS v4.0
6.3
Medium
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/AT:P/PR:N/UI:N/VC:L/VI:N/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Spring LDAP versions 2.4.0 through 2.4.3
Spring LDAP versions 3.0.0 through 3.2.7
Description:
The issue is related to insufficient case sensitivity checking in the String.toLowerCase() and String.toUpperCase() functions of the Spring LDAP project, which can be exploited by a remote attacker to gain unauthorized access to protected information. This may potentially allow for authentication bypass.
Recommendations:
For Spring LDAP versions 2.4.0 through 2.4.3, upgrade to a version outside of this range.
For Spring LDAP versions 3.0.0 through 3.2.7, upgrade to a version later than 3.2.7.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the use of the
String.toLowerCase() and String.toUpperCase() functions until a patch is available.Fix
