Description
The issue is due to missing or incorrect nonce validation on the
save function, making it possible for unauthenticated attackers to change plugin access privileges via a forged request. This can be achieved by tricking a site administrator into performing an action such as clicking on a link. Successful exploitation allows attackers with subscriber-level privileges and above to upload arbitrary files on the affected site's server, which may make remote code execution possible.Recommendations
For versions up to, and including, 1.4.2, consider disabling the
save function until a patch is available to prevent exploitation. Restrict access to the plugin's functionality to minimize the risk of attackers uploading arbitrary files. Avoid using the plugin until a fixed version is released. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.LPE
