CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions: Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description: A vulnerability in the Linux kernel has been resolved, related to the handling of freeze mutex during memory mapping BPF map contents with writable permissions. The issue could potentially lead to deadlocks. The resolution involves holding freeze mutex only during writeability checks and bumping the "write active" count for the map, then unlocking the mutex and proceeding with mmap logic.
Recommendations: At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
