Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
gaizhenbiao/chuanhuchatgpt version git 20b2e02
Description
A stored cross-site scripting (XSS) issue exists due to improper sanitization of HTML tags in chat history uploads. The sanitization logic fails to handle HTML tags within code blocks correctly, allowing an attacker to inject malicious scripts. This can lead to the execution of arbitrary JavaScript code in the context of the user's browser, potentially leading to identity theft or other malicious actions.
Recommendations
For version git 20b2e02, consider disabling the chat history upload feature until a patch is available to prevent the injection of malicious scripts. Restrict access to the code blocks within the chat history to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the chat history upload feature with untrusted input until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
