CVE-2025-21874

CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel versions prior to 6.14.0-rc2+
Description A divide by zero error occurs in the Linux kernel when calculating the journal watermark in Inline mode, as the journal is unused and journal sectors is zero. This can cause a system crash when a simple table query, such as dmsetup table, is executed. The issue is reliably reproducible on certain systems, including 32-bit testing machines.
Recommendations For Linux kernel versions prior to 6.14.0-rc2+, update to a version that includes the fix for the divide by zero error in Inline mode. As a temporary workaround, consider avoiding the use of dmsetup table on affected systems until a patch is available.
