Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel has been resolved, related to the handling of pte markers when the
fork() function is called without a fork event. The issue was addressed through a patch series titled "mm: Fixes on pte markers", which includes two patches. The first patch resolves a syzkiller report, while the second patch further hardens pte markers when used with recent swapin error markers. This ensures that a child process does not read a corrupted page after a fork operation.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
