Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
A resolved issue in the Linux kernel involves the i2c designware component, where functions
i2c dw scl lcnt() and i2c dw scl hcnt() may experience an overflow depending on the values of given parameters, including ic clk. This overflow can occur when ic clk is large, such as over one million, causing a 32-bit overflow when multiplied by 4700. The fix involves casting to u64 to avoid multiplication overflow and using the corresponding define for division.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
