CVE-2023-52974

CVSS v3.1

7.8

High

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A use-after-free issue occurs in the Linux kernel when accessing the shost ipaddress during login. This happens when iscsi sw tcp session create() fails, and iscsi tcp r2tpool alloc() is accessed by userspace while the session is being freed via iscsi session teardown(). The issue is resolved by setting tcp sw host->session after completing session creation.
Recommendations To resolve the issue, update the Linux kernel to a version that includes the fix for the use-after-free bug in the iscsi tcp module. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
