CVE-2023-53003

CVSS v3.1

7.8

High

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A use-after-free bug has been identified in the Linux kernel. The issue arises when the memory for llcc driv data is allocated by the LLCC driver and then passed as private driver info to the EDAC core. When the qcom edac driver is released, this memory gets freed. However, upon the qcom edac driver being probed again, it attempts to use the freed data, leading to the bug. The solution involves referencing llcc driv data using the platform data pointer in the qcom edac driver instead of passing it as pvt info.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
