Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
A memory leak issue has been identified in the Linux kernel's Bluetooth functionality, specifically in the
hci update adv data() function. When hci cmd sync queue() fails, the inst ptr is not freed, leading to a memory leak. This issue has been resolved by converting to use ERR PTR/PTR ERR to pass the instance to the callback, eliminating the need for memory allocation.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
