Description
An issue has been discovered in GitLab EE/CE where a maliciously crafted file can cause uncontrolled CPU consumption when viewing the associated merge request.
Recommendations
For versions 12.10 through 17.8.5, update to version 17.8.6 or later.
For versions 17.9 through 17.9.2, update to version 17.9.3 or later.
For versions 17.10 through 17.10.0, update to version 17.10.1 or later.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to merge requests that may contain maliciously crafted files until a patch is available.
