Description The issue allows an attacker to send a specially crafted request to the "post.cgi" endpoint, updating the pppoe peer mac parameter in nvram and forcing a reboot, resulting in command injection.
Recommendations For Netgear WNR854T version 1.5.2, as a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the "post.cgi" endpoint until a patch is available. Avoid using the pppoe peer mac parameter in the affected endpoint to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
