Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
A use-after-free issue occurs when a hid-steam device is removed, potentially leading to scheduling deferred work to reattach the input device. The cleanup process cancels the deferred work, but this was done before the client hdev itself is cleaned up, allowing it to get rescheduled. This issue has been resolved with a patch that fixes the ordering to properly cancel the deferred work.
Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
