CVE-2025-22002

CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel versions prior to the version with the applied patch
Description The issue arises when the invalidate cache method is called on filesystems that do not implement it, such as NFS and Ceph. If writing to the cache (NETFS WRITE TO CACHE) fails, the kernel crashes due to a NULL pointer dereference. This is resolved by adding a missing NULL check.
Recommendations For Linux kernel versions prior to the version with the applied patch, apply the patch that adds the missing NULL check to prevent the kernel crash.
