Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Product Filter by WBW plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 2.7.9
Description
The issue allows unauthenticated attackers to perform time-based SQL Injection via the
filtersDataBackend parameter due to insufficient escaping of user-supplied input and lack of preparation on the existing SQL query. This enables attackers to append additional SQL queries to existing ones, potentially extracting sensitive information from the database.Recommendations
For versions up to, and including, 2.7.9, update to a version later than 2.7.9 to resolve the issue.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the
filtersDataBackend parameter to minimize the risk of exploitation.Fix
