CVSS v3.1

| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Apollo Router Core versions prior to 1.61.2
Apollo Router Core versions prior to 2.1.1
Description
The issue arises from the operation limits plugin using unsigned 32-bit integers to track limit counters, such as a query's height. If a counter exceeds the maximum value for this data type, it wraps around to 0, unintentionally allowing queries to bypass configured thresholds. This can occur for large queries with increased payload limits or for small queries with deeply nested and reused named fragments.
Recommendations
For versions prior to 1.61.2, update to version 1.61.2 or later.
For versions prior to 2.1.1, update to version 2.1.1 or later.
