Description A vulnerability in the Linux kernel has been resolved, related to device-exclusive handling and huge pages (hugetlb). The issue causes problems with migration, swapout, and split handling of folios with device-exclusive PTEs. This can lead to failed migration of pages and infinite loops when trying to offline memory blocks. The vulnerability can be triggered by allocating 1 GiB worth of pages and making them device-exclusive on a kernel with CONFIG TEST HMM.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
