CVE-2025-22044

CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A vulnerability in the Linux kernel has been resolved, related to a narrowing conversion issue in the acpi nfit ctl function. The issue arises when a user-provided value, call pkg->nd family of type u64, is converted to int and then compared to NVDIMM BUS FAMILY MAX. If the lower 32 bits of call pkg->nd family are zero, but the value is non-zero, an invalid argument can be passed to acpi nfit ctl, leading to undefined behavior. The vulnerability was reported by Syzkaller, which emitted a warning for the to nfit bus uuid function.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
