Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel versions prior to 6.14.0-rc3+
Description
The issue is related to the RDMA/mlx5 component of the Linux kernel. A bug in the
mlx5 poll one() function causes it to incorrectly update the cur qp flow, potentially leading to a kernel NULL pointer dereference. This occurs when the QP number from the CQE is matched against the QP number inside mlx5 ib qp instead of mlx5 core qp. The problem is mainly noticeable over QPs 0 and 1.Recommendations
For Linux kernel versions prior to 6.14.0-rc3+, update to a version that includes the fix for the
mlx5 poll one() function.
As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the RDMA/mlx5 component until a patch is available.
Restrict access to the vulnerable mlx5 ib poll cq() function to minimize the risk of exploitation.Exploit
