CVE-2025-22092

CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A NULL pointer dereference issue has been resolved in the Linux kernel. The issue occurred due to incorrect error handling flow when pci setup device() fails, leading to a kernel oops during device removal. The problem was addressed by adding pci iov scan device(), which handles virtfn allocation and setup, and cleans up if pci setup device() fails. This prevents accessing partially initialized virtfn devices during removal. The issue was related to the pci iov add virtfn() function, which no longer needs to call pci stop and remove bus device().
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
