VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's ALSA timer code has been resolved. The issue involved taking the register mutex with copy from/to user(), which can lead to deadlocks when called inside another mutex. This problem was introduced when converting to guard() and had been worked around in the past. The patch fixes this by moving copy from/to user() out of the register mutex lock.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
