CVE-2024-12030

CVSS v3.1

6.5

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions MDTF – Meta Data and Taxonomies Filter plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 1.3.3.5
Description The issue arises from insufficient escaping on the user-supplied parameter and lack of sufficient preparation on the existing SQL query, allowing authenticated attackers with Contributor-level access and above to append additional SQL queries into already existing queries. This can be used to extract sensitive information from the database via the key attribute of the mdf value shortcode.
Recommendations For versions up to, and including, 1.3.3.5, consider disabling the mdf value shortcode until a patch is available to prevent exploitation of the SQL Injection vulnerability. Restrict access to the mdf value shortcode to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the key attribute in the mdf value shortcode until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
